SCALLOPED POTATOES 
6 med. potatoes
1 med. onion, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, cut into halves
2 tsp. butter
Salt & pepper to taste
2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
2 eggs
3 c. half & half
2 tbsp. butter

Cut potatoes into thin slices. Rub oblong baking dish, 14 x 10 inches, with cut garlic clove; brush with 2 teaspoons butter. Arrange potatoes and onion in layers in casserole, sprinkle each layer with salt, pepper and cheese.

Beat eggs and half & half; pour over potato slices. Dot with butter. Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown, about 1 hour. Yield 8-10 servings.
