NEW ORLEANS STYLE SEAFOOD CASSEROLE | |
1 (12 oz.) bag egg noodles 2 1/4 c. (1 1/2 - 12 oz. cans) evaporated milk 2 tbsp. crushed garlic or to taste 4 heaping tbsp. cornstarch 1 carrot, finely grated 1 1/2 sticks butter 1/2 c. dry white wine 1/2 tsp. pepper 8 oz. oysters, sm. or cut sm. 7 oz. crab meat 1 1/2 lbs. shrimp, peeled & deveined 1 c. cooked broccoli florets 3/4 c. finely grated mild cheddar cheese 1/4 c. Italian style bread crumbs Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook noodles and set aside. Combine evaporated milk, garlic, cornstarch, carrot, butter, wine and pepper. Cook over low heat until it begins to thicken, stirring constantly. Add oysters, crab meat and shrimp. Cook 4 or more minutes. Combine seafood mixture with noodles and put into an 9"x13" baking pan. Top with broccoli and cheese; sprinkle with bread crumbs. Cook in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until bubbly. Reheats nicely. |
