TOPPER'S OLD FASHIONED POTATO SOUP | |
5 lb. potatoes 1 c. flour 3 c. milk 1 1/2 lb. bacon 1-2 tbsp. seasoned salt 1/2 lb. butter Cook bacon until crisp and drain. Peel potatoes and cut into bite-size pieces, then boil until not quite done. Make a white sauce of flour and milk. Add salt to sauce, add to potatoes and then add the bacon, any optional ingredients. Cook to desired consistency (thick or thin). Simmer about 30 minutes. OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: 1/4 c. onion 1/2 c. carrots, cooked 1/2 c. celery, cooked Add the same time you add the bacon. |
