MAMA IHLENFELD'S OLD FASHIONED
BUCKWHEAT CAKES
 
2 c. buttermilk
2 c. stone ground buckwheat flour
1 tsp. salt
1 sm. cake of yeast, dissolve in 1 cup warm water
1 c. white flour
2 tbsp. sugar

Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda in morning. Mix all together (dry ingredients). Add buttermilk to make a batter easy to pour. Let rise overnight. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda in morning. Bake on hot griddle and enjoy.

Put bowl in large flat pan so if mixture rises over bowl you won't have a mess to clean up.
