APPLE KUCHEN 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 stick butter, room temperature

Combine all ingredients in bowl and cut in as for pie crust. It will look like cornmeal. Add 1 egg in measuring cup. Fill with milk until 3/4 full. Mix with flour mixture. It will make a thick dough. Spread into an oblong pan. Let stand while peeling 2 or 3 apples. Core and slice them. Press into dough standing up. 1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix together and sprinkle over apples and dough. Cover pan with cookie sheet and bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees until apples are tender. Remove cookie sheet and bake until done, about 5 or 10 minutes more. Serve with Lemon Sauce.

LEMON SAUCE:

1 pkg. lemon pie filling

Prepare as package directs but omit the egg. While still warm, pour over warm cake. Let all cool and serve.
