TUNA - ONION BURGERS | |
1 (16 oz.) can tuna, drained 1 sm. onion, minced 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs 2 eggs 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper 1/4 c. peanut or vegetable oil 4 sandwich buns Optional toppings: 1 oz. cheese slices, lettuce, sprouts, pickle slices, tomato slices & flavored mustard In large bowl, combine first 5 ingredients; mix well. If time permits, chill so mixture will stick together more readily. Quarter mixture and shape into 4 patties. In large skillet, heat oil; panfry patties on each side about 3 to 6 minutes. Meanwhile, toast buns (if desired). If adding cheese, after turning, top each pattie with cheese slice. Place burgers on bottom half of buns, add desired toppings. Makes 4 servings. Per serving: 536 calories, 45 grams protein, 28 grams fat, 28 grams carbohydrate, 762 milligrams sodium, 209 milligrams cholesterol, 0.1 gram fiber. |
