SNICKERDOODLES (SUGAR COOKIES) 
1 c. butter, at room temperature
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 3/4 c. flour
3 tbsp. granulated sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter, sugar, and eggs thoroughly. Sift flour, cream of tartar, sod and salt. Add to the first mixture and blend thoroughly again. Form dough into balls the size of walnuts. In another bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of sugar with cinnamon. Roll each ball in mixture and place on ungreased cookie sheet allowing at least 2 inches between each ball. Bake in 400 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
