PENNSYLVANIA RED CABBAGE | |
2 tbsp. bacon drippings 2 c. cubed, unpared apple 1/4 c. vinegar Dash pepper 4 c. shredded red cabbage 1/4 c. brown sugar 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. caraway seed Heat drippings in skillet; add remaining ingredients and 1/4 cup water. Cook, covered over low heat, stirring occasionally. For crisp cabbage, cook 15 minutes, for tender, 25 to 30 minutes. Serves 4 or 5. |
