CRANBERRY BARS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. quick oats
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. lemon peel, finely shredded
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 (16 oz.) can whole cranberry sauce
1/4 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, sugar, lemon peel and baking soda. Stir in the butter and mix thoroughly. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture. Pat the remaining oat mixture in an ungreased 8x12 inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.

Carefully spread the cranberry sauce on the baked layer. Combine the nuts with the 1 cup reserved oat mixture and sprinkle on the cranberry sauce layer. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden. Cool and cut into bars. Makes 24-30.
