BRAZIL NUT BREAD 
This was mom's favorite recipe to make at Christmas.

1 lb. Brazil nuts
1 lb. dates
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
7 oz. maraschino cherries with juice
4 eggs

Pour sugar over dates and nuts. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the above and beat eggs well and add to the above. Put in greased loaf pans and bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Put in aluminum foil and this freezes well and keeps in the refrigerator a long time.
