COLONIAL SEED CAKE 
2 oz. poppy seeds
3/4 c. milk
3/4 c. soft butter
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sifted flour

Combine first 6 ingredients and add 2 teaspoons baking powder and 2 cups sifted flour. Beat at medium speed with mixer for 1 minute scraping the sides of the bowl.

Pour into loaf, round, or bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Turn out to cool. Sprinkle with powdered confectioners sugar or serve with whipped cream.
