CHEWY ROLO BROWNIES
36 Rolo pieces
1/4 c. butter
18.15 or 18.5 oz. pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. chopped nuts
5.3 oz. can (2/3 c.) evaporated milk

Grease a 13x9x2 inch pan; set aside. Cut Rolo pieces in half crosswise; set aside.

Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat (watch carefully); set aside.

Combine dry cake mix and chopped nuts. Stir in melted butter and evaporated milk until blended. Spread half (about 1 1/2 cups) of mixture in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and immediately place Rolo pieces, cut sides down, onto warm crust. Drop remaining cake mixture by teaspoonfuls evenly over Rolo's in pan. (Do not spread.) Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely before serving.

I've been making this recipe for 30 years, however, you can no longer buy a cake mix that is 18.15 or 18.5 oz. - they are all now 15.25 oz. and the evaporated milk is no longer in a 5.3 oz. can - they are now only 5 oz. I just use the 15.25 oz. cake mix and the 5 oz. evaporated milk and it comes out fine. Suggestion...after putting 1/2 of the mixture into the pan for baking, put the remaining mixture in the refrigerator or freezer as it is very sticky and hard to drop over the Rolo mixture.
