JET PRUNE CAKE 
4 c. sifted cake flour
2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
2 c. vegetable oil
2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 c. chopped cooked prunes

Sift cake flour, soda and sugar together. Beat eggs for 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients, including dry ingredients and beat 3 minutes. Pour into 3 greased floured 9 inch pans. Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

ICING:

Whites of 4 eggs
3 c. soft butter
Dash of salt
4 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 c. chopped nuts, optional

Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually add sugar, then add shortening, vanilla, lemon, salt and mix thoroughly.
