LEILA'S HOMEMADE GINGER ALE | |
4 oz fresh ginger, finely chopped 1 ˝ cups water ˝ cups granulated sugar peel of ˝ lemon 6 cups club soda ice cubes In a saucepan, combine ginger and water. Bring to boiling over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 5 minutes. Let cool. Refrigerate overnight. Return to saucepan. Heat and stir in sugar and lemon peel. Heat to boiling. Boil 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let cool and strain. Refrigerate syrup until serving time. For each serving, spoon 3 tablespoons syrup over ice in a tall glass. Stir in 1 cup chilled club soda. Serve immediately. Submitted by: JG |
