RAISED DONUTS 
2 1/2 c. scalded milk
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar

Mix well and add 2 cakes of yeast

2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. soft shortening
7 to 7 1/2 c. flour

Knead, let rise twice. Roll and cut. Let stand until twice the bulk uncovered. Fry.

GLAZE:

1/3 c. boiling water
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix and spread on donuts.
