6 tbsp. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. diced apples
1/2 c. nuts

TOPPING:

2 tsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar (brown or white)
2 tsp. butter
1/2 c. nuts
2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream together butter, sugar and eggs.

Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg and add to cream mixture. Then add vanilla, apples and nuts, pour into a 9 x 13 inch cake pan which has been greased and floured. Mix together topping and put on cake before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
