KROFE
5 eggs
7 c. sifted flour
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 yeast cakes
2 cubes butter
5 c. milk

Add sifted flour, salt and sugar into a large bowl. Add the butter which has been melted. Then add the yeast cakes which have been put into a small bowl with a small amount of milk and sprinkle over sugar to raise. Add the well beaten eggs. Knead the dough for about a half hour. Let raise until double in bulk. Then knead the dough again. Take a small section of dough and roll out about 1/2" thick on a tablecloth sprinkled with flour. Cut into strips about 5" long, take three strips at a time and braid to make the effect. Let raise to almost double. Fry in deep fat until golden brown on both sides. Remove and place on paper towel, roll in sugar and they are ready to serve.
