OLD FASHIONED VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 1/2 lbs. beef or ham bones, with meat
8 c. water
3 stalks celery, chopped
3 lg. carrots, chopped
2 med. onions, chopped
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained & chopped
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dried whole basil
1/2 tsp. dried whole thyme
1/2 tsp. dried whole marjoram
2 c. frozen green lima beans
1 c. frozen corn
1 c. frozen green peas
1/2 c. macaroni

Combine first 12 ingredients in a large Dutch oven. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. Add lima beans, corn and peas. Return to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered 15 minutes. Stir in macaroni and continue to cook for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Yield: 3 1/2 quarts.
