MARTHA WASHINGTON CANDY 
1 stick butter
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
Dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. chopped, candied cherries

Combine butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Add nuts and cherries; mix well. Chill and roll into small balls.

Dip in chocolate: 3/4 bar paraffin

Melt in double boiler; stir and dip balls with a fork. Place on waxed paper to dry. Store in refrigerator or freezer. This is a special favorite.
