MICROWAVE FRENCH ONION SOUP
6 tbsp. butter
2 lg. onions, thinly sliced
2 cans condensed beef consomme
1 c. hot water
1/4 c. dry white wine
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. pepper
8 slices French bread
1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. grated Parmesan cheese

In 3 quart casserole place butter and onions; cover. Microwave at high for 18 to 20 minutes or until tender, stirring 2 times. Add consomme, hot water, wine, Worcestershire, and pepper. Recover. Microwave at high for 8 to 9 minutes, or until boiling. Divide among 4 small casseroles or soup bowls. Top each with 2 slices French bread. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons Swiss cheese on each and 1 teaspoon Parmesan. Arrange in circle in oven and microwave at 70% power for 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 minutes, or until cheese melts.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
