SCANDINAVIAN ALMOND BARS 
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
Milk
1/2 c. sliced almonds

GLAZE:

1 can vanilla frosting, melted

Combine flour, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and almond extract. Beat well. Add flour mixture. Beat until well mixed. Divide dough into fourths. Form each portion into a 12 inch roll. Place 2 of the rolls 4 to 5 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten to 3 inches wide (each roll). Brush rolls with a little milk, sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 325 degrees 12 to 14 minutes. Cut while still warm into 1 inch strips. Drizzle with glaze when cooled. Repeat with remaining 2 rolls. Can drizzle red and green for Christmas giving. Makes about 48.
