MY MOM'S GREAT CHICKEN AND
DUMPLINGS
 
10 c. sifted flour
5 tsp. salt
10 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. Crisco shortening
3 3/4 c. milk

Combine dry ingredients. Work in shortening like a pie crust. Add milk. Work with hands until all ingredients are moist. Roll dough out onto floured surface to 1/4-inch thick. Slice into 2-inch squares.

Broth: Boil hen seasoned with salt and pepper (about 10 cups). Add dumplings one at a time. Simmer several hours. If sauce gets too thick, add some canned chicken broth.
