RED VELVET POUND CAKE 
7 eggs
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Crisco
2 oz. red food coloring
1/8 tsp. salt
3 c. cake flour
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating thoroughly after each. Add flour and buttermilk alternately. Add vanilla and red food coloring. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

ICING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt

Mix preceding ingredients and spread on cake.
