ANISE CANDY 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light Karo syrup
1/2 c. boiling water

Cook to hard crack stage (300 degrees). Add coloring and flavoring. Flavoring includes 1/4 teaspoon anise, cinnamon, cloves, peppermint or winter green. Pour into well greased pan. Cut into squares before it gets too hard.
