OLD FASHION GINGERBREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. molasses
3 egg yolks
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
3 egg whites
3 c. plain flour

Cream shortening and sugar; add molasses and egg yolks. Mix buttermilk and soda together. Stir well. Add to creamed mixture. Sift flour and ginger together several times and add.

Whip egg whites until stiff and fold in after all other ingredients have been added. Pour into greased 7 1/2 x 15 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
