OLD - FASHIONED GINGERBREAD 
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. softened butter
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk

In mixing bowl, add flour, salt, soda, ginger and cinnamon. Cream butter, gradually adding sugar to butter. Beat well after each addition. Add egg to creamed mixture one at a time. Stir in the molasses. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk and mix until smooth after each addition.

Pour into buttered and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes or until done. Cool and serve topped with whip cream or Cool Whip topping.
