1 1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter with sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Sift flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda. Add to batter. Blend well. Drop cookies from teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar before baking. Bake 8 minutes. Makes 8 dozen.
