GERMAN RED CABBAGE 
1/4 c. butter
1 lg. onion, fried
Med. head red cabbage, shredded
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1 c. hot water
1 bouillon cube
Caraway seeds
Salt and pepper

Fry onion in butter; add other ingredients. Simmer 1 hour.

This was a great recpe -- I omitted the caraway seeds but added 1 tbsp. of bacon grease fat. I keep in a can in my fridge.
