BUTTERMILK BROWNIES 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/3 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. baking soda

Sift flour, sugar and baking soda. Bring the butter, water and cocoa to a rapid boil. pour over dry ingredient mixture and beat 2 minutes. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla, beat 2 more minutes. Pour into 11x7-inch pan and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Cool.

Frosting:

1/4 c. butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
3 tbsp. buttermilk
2 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter, cocoa and buttermilk in pan. Cook until boiling. Remove from heat and beat in powdered sugar and vanilla. Pour over cooled cake.
