DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BROWNIES 
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2/3 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1 1/4 c. Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. M & M plain candies

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease rectangular pan, 13"x9"x2". Heat unsweetened chocolate and shortening in 3 quart saucepan over low heat until melted. Remove from heat, mix in sugar, vanilla and eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients except candies. Spread in pan. Sprinkle with candies, press lightly. Bake until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan, about 30 minutes. (Do not overbake.) Cool completely; cut into bars, about 2" x 1 1/2". Yield: 32 brownies.
