TEXAS SHEETCAKE | |
3 sticks butter 1 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 1 c. pecans 1 tsp. vanilla 8 tbsp. cocoa 2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1 c. sour cream 7 tbsp. milk 1 box 10X sugar Bring to a boil: 2 sticks butter, 4 tablespoons cocoa and 1 cup water. Remove from heat and add: 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 2 cups sugar. Beat in 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 cup sour cream and 2 eggs. Pour into a large greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Frosting: Bring to a boil: 1 stick butter, 6 tablespoons milk and 4 tablespoons cocoa. Remove from heat and add: 1 cup pecans, 1 box 10X sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spread on cake as soon as it is removed from the oven. |
