ONION CASSEROLE
1 large sweet onion
1 (5 oz.) bag potato chips, crushed
8 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 (10 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 can water (use empty soup can)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Peel and cut onion into thin slices. Separate onion rings and place half into a 2 1/2-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the onions. Cover with half the potato chips. Create another layer just like the first with the rest of the ingredients.

Thoroughly mix the condensed soup and water in a separate bowl. Add soup mix evenly over the casserole. Place lid on casserole dish.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour. Uncover and bake an additional 30 minutes or until the casserole starts to brown. Let it set for about 20 minutes before serving.
