BARBECUE SAUCE 
1 c. maple syrup
1 c. catsup
3/4 c. dry white wine
1/4 c. water
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. instant beef bouillon
1 tsp. grated gingerroot
1 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. ground cloves

In saucepan, combine all of the ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until mixture is reduced by half, approximately 30 minutes. This can also be done in the microwave. Makes 2 cups. This sauce is especially good on pork chops.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
