ORANGE LOAF CAKE 
Place in mixing bowl:

2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco or other shortening

Cream all together well.

1/2 c. orange juice
3 eggs
2 tbsp. orange rind
1/4 tsp. almond extract

Add orange juice. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Blend until smooth. Add orange rind and almond extract. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool and sprinkle with sifted confectioners' sugar or frost with thin orange flavored frosting.
