BANANA PUDDING 
2 c. milk, scalded
1/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
5 or 6 ripe bananas
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 box Nilla wafers

Line bottom and sides of baking dish with vanilla wafers, then put alternate layers of sliced bananas until dish is about full. Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Add egg yolks, separated, and gradually pour on scalded milk. Cook in double boiler until custard thickens. Pour over vanilla wafer and banana mixture.

Top with meringue and cook at 300 degrees until brown, approximately 20 minutes.

MERINGUE:

Whip egg whites until peaks form. Add 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla. Mix well.
