COOKED RICE 
1 c. rice
2 c. water
2 c. milk
1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt

Combine rice and water. Bring to a boil; lower heat; simmer 15 minutes, covered. Turn off heat, let stand 30 minutes to steam. Add rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil and cook until it starts to thicken, stirring constantly. Rice will thicken more as it cools.
