PEAR CRISP 
1/2 c. walnut pieces
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 stick unsalted butter
4 firm pears
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Toast nuts in oven for 5 minutes. Combine flour, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon and process in food processor. Add butter and pulse until mixture is crumbly. Stir in nuts.

Peel, core and slice pears and toss with sugar and flour. Place pears in baking dish and cover evenly with topping. Bake 45 minutes or until brown. Serve warm with ice cream (optional). 6 servings.
