BAKER'S CLAY | |
4 c. unsifted flour 1 c. salt 1 1/2 c. water Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Turnout on a lightly floured board and knead until smooth. Add a little more water if the dough is too stiff to work. This will last indefinitely in the refrigerator. May add a few drops of food coloring to separate globs of dough. After it has been stored you will need to add more flour. Roll and shape into small toys, Christmas tree ornaments, vases, etc. Roll into small beads, poking hole with toothpick or needle. Roll with rolling pin and use a cookie cutter to shape. Paint with poster paint, or felt tip pens. Dry slowly in 200 degree oven. You may protect with varnish or verathane. To give it an antique look, dye the water with tea bags or instant coffee. |
