1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. oil
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

In ungreased pan (9 x 9) stir first 8 ingredients until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread evenly. Mix together 1 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Sprinkle over top of batter. Pour 1 3/4 cups hottest tap water over this. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand 15 minutes.
