SIX LAYER DINNER 
1 lb. lean ground chuck
4 med. boiling potatoes, peeled, cut into 1/4" slices
2 lg. carrots, scraped, cut into 1/4" slices
1 lg. onion, cut into 1/4" slices
1 med. green pepper, cut into 1/4" slices
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained & chopped
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/8 tsp. dried whole basil

Developed for diabetics or if on low-fat, low-cholesterol diet or if you just like to eat healthy.

Cook ground check in large skillet over medium heat until browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well, pat dry with paper towels. Place in large baking dish, layer potatoes, carrots, onion, green pepper and tomatoes over top. Sprinkle with pepper and basil. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve hot.

Serving amount 3/4 cup. Exchanges 1 starch and 1 medium fat meat. Cholesterol 28 mg. Calories 147. Carbohydrates 16 gm. Protein 10 gm. Fat 4 gm. Fiber 1 gm. Sodium 184 mg.
