APPLE CRISP 
BOTTOM:

3 med. apples
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
Salt (optional)

TOP:

1/2 cube butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten

Mix ingredients for the bottom and place in a 8 x 8 inch pan. Mix ingredients for the top and place on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Can be doubled for a 9 x 13 inch pan. Can substitute rhubarb, blackberries, peaches and other fruits. Leave out the water on bottom for fruits like rhubarb that have a high water content.
