OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. quick oats
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs

Mix oatmeal with boiling water; let stand 20 minutes. Add sugars, butter and eggs, beating well after each addition. Add sifted dry ingredients to mixture, beating well.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

Icing:

1 c. nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar
5 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix brown sugar, butter and milk over low heat until dissolved. Add nuts, coconut and vanilla, mixing thoroughly. Pour over hot cake.

Bake in moderate oven 5 to 8 minutes.
