APPLE TORTE 
1 egg
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. apples, peeled and diced

Beat egg and sugar together; add vanilla, salt, baking powder, and flour. Blend. Fold in the chopped nuts and apples.

Pour into buttered 8-inch layer pan and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) about 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cut in wedges and serve warm with whipped cream.
