APPLE SQUARES 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp. milk
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. chopped apples

Combine flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in walnuts. Reserve 2 cups crumb mixture; press remaining mixture into bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan. Combine cream cheese and milk until well blended. Add 1/4 cup sugar, egg and vanilla; mix well. Pour over crust. Top with apples; sprinkle with crumb mixture.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Cool. Chill. Cut into squares. Store in refrigerator.
