COCOA BROWNIES 
Sift together:

2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Heat on stove to almost boiling:

1 stick butter
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. water

Pour into flour mixture.

Add:

2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. buttermilk

Place in sheet pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

FROSTING:

Heat:

1 stick butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
4 tbsp. buttermilk

Add:

2 c. powdered sugar or enough to spreading consistency

Frost brownies while warm.
