SAUCY TURNIPS 
6 c. peeled and sliced turnips
1 1/4 c. water
3 sm. green onions, sliced
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornstarch, mixed with 1/4 c. water
1 c. shredded cheese

Cook turnips in water 12 minutes. Add onion, butter, garlic powder and salt. Cook 5 minutes longer. Add cornstarch and stir until thickened. Add cheese and cook until melted.
