CUSTARD ICING 
1/2 c. sugar
2 heaping tbsp. flour
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
1/2 lb. butter
4 heaping tbsp. powdered sugar

In the top of a double boiler mix sugar, flour, vanilla, egg to make a paste. Add milk. In the double boiler, bring to boil and allow to thicken. Remove from heat and chill thoroughly.

Soften butter. Add powdered sugar. Beat into butter. Add chilled custard a heaping tablespoon at a time and mix in. Frosts a 9" two layer cake.
