AIR BUNS 
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
1 env. yeast

Let above stand 5-10 minutes.

1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. vinegar
3 1/2 c. warm water

For whole wheat buns, increase yeast to 1 1/2-2 envelopes and salt to 2 teaspoons. Use over 1/2 cup whole wheat flour.

Mix yeast and 8-10 cups flour, enough so dough does not stick to hands. Grease bowl, let rise in warm spot for 2 hours. Knead down and form small balls. Use greased cookie sheets or muffin tins. Cover with damp cloth and let rise 1-2 hours. Have oven set at 400 degrees and bake until golden brown.
