MOTHER'S CHRISTMAS PUDDING | |
1/2 lb. figs, chopped 1/2 lb. dates, chopped 1/4 lb. suet, chopped 2/3 c. sugar 2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. nutmeg or cloves 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. wine 1 c. citron, chopped 1 c. cherries, chopped 1 c. nuts, chopped 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3 eggs 1/2 c. sour milk Mix together and steam for 2 hours. VANILLA SAUCE: 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. flour 1 tbsp. butter 1 c. milk Cook until creamy, stirring constantly. Take from stove and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. |
