CHRISTMAS PUDDING 
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. raisins
3 c. whole candied cherries
4 c. cut mixed peel
1 1/2 c. currants
2 eggs, well beaten
2 c. ground suet
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. molasses
2 c. fine dry bread (crumbs)
2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 c. almonds

Sift flour and soda together. Mix raisins, cherries, mixed peel and currants - sprinkle with 1/2 cup of flour mixture. Beat eggs, add suet, brown sugar and molasses. Add flour and bread crumbs, alternately with buttermilk. Add fruit and almonds. Steam 3 hours. Serve with your Christmas turkey and all the trimmings.
